Backerkit -

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

Other Cool Stuff -

Since we reached the Embossed Tuck stretch goal we can now have that extra cool texture on the Tuck. Here's a layout on where the embossing will go. This project will be Cellar Window's first "art deck" series which will all be different kinds of themes, illustrations and styles in the future.

Surprise!

Since we're looking to also launch the Lapis Lazuli deck to complete the Cabinet of Curiosities project we have decided to also include the inner print in Alabaster deck's manufacturing even if we haven't reached the goal for it.
Here's the samples:

You can reply on this project update which Inner print you'd like for Alabaster Deck. We'll only count votes that came in within 24 hours so we can proceed with manufacturing. The second place design will be included as an inner print in a future launch of Lapis Lazuli! Vote for your favorite by commenting the number on this update!

We'll be launching the Lapis Lazuli decks and prints soon. The funding goal is a lot reachable since Alabaster was already funded. If this project reaches it's goal it will already include bell's and whistles like the seal, embossed tuck, and inner print!

Launch day will have 150 early birds and 55 signed rare prints that features the designed objects from the number cards, court cards, aces, jokers and card back! This will be a Kickstarter / Backerkit exclusive. We'll give you a heads up with the project url in a future update.
.
That pretty much covers everything on this update, remember to vote for your favorite inner prints here! Have a good weekend!

Funded! + Next Steps
about 6 years ago – Wed, Feb 07, 2018 at 05:22:48 PM

Thank you for making our project a reality! We even cleared 10k to be able to reach the fully embossed tuck, so now all decks will have that 3D feel!

There's still a lot more to do though so here's a quick rundown on what will happen in a few weeks:

First, Kickstarter needs to transfer over the funds so we have the money to make the rewards (this can take up to two weeks).

Second, we have to find out your rewards and where we need to ship them. We’ll send out a BackerKit survey to collect this information.

We’ll give you a heads-up before we send the survey so that you can watch for it. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email contains a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards.

If you need to change your survey responses, purchase add-on items, or update your shipping information, you can click the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.)

If you prefer, you can contact me directly and give me your information, but answering your survey help us get your rewards out to you faster. BackerKit helps us save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing us with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact me.

Again, thanks for all your support!

First 24 Hours and a bit about these strange cabinets
about 6 years ago – Fri, Jan 19, 2018 at 09:25:51 AM

Our first 24 hours went well! We still have a long way to go but I'm positive that we'll make it. For the meantime I wanted to reveal to you a couple of cards inside the box! These are the 5 of Diamonds and the 8 of Hearts, still looking as random and always open for interpretation.

We'll keep dropping in these cards as we go along this campaign and beyond~

.

Although it might seem random at first glance, collections inside these cabinets around the world were often organized into four categories (in latin). Here's the first two:

Artificialia -

These cabinets contained objects created or modified by human (antiques, works of art, etc).

1. The Venus of Willendorf (c. 28,000 B.C.E) , 2-3. Ostrich Egg Cups (c. 1570-75)
1. The Venus of Willendorf (c. 28,000 B.C.E) , 2-3. Ostrich Egg Cups (c. 1570-75)

The Venus of Willendorf is probably one of the earliest stylized rendition of a human being dating around 28,000 and 25,000 BCE. The Ostrich Egg Cups was made by Clement Kicklinger around 1570-75 and is part of the Wien, Kunstkammer in Vienna.

Naturalia -

Cabinets that includes creatures and natural objects, with a particular interest in monsters.

1. Two-headed calf (Museum of Natural History of Venice), 2. polycephalic lamb (Ovis Aries)
1. Two-headed calf (Museum of Natural History of Venice), 2. polycephalic lamb (Ovis Aries)

These animals with multiple heads (polycephalous) have the same origin as Siamese twins, their deformation derives in fact from an incomplete separation of monozygotic twins. Polycephalous creatures are traditionally attributed supernatural powers of clairvoyance; in fact, many deities belonging to polytheistic religions are depicted as multi-headed beings.

Our own collection for Cabinets of Curiosities 'probably' falls to the Artificialia category. We'll tackle the other two category in our next update! I hope you guys weren't bored by that. I just wanted to show you guys a few of the things on what fascinated me in making this unique deck. We hope you have a great week ahead. Less than 18 days to go!
